Previously the Chelsea Children’s Hospital Charity, we re-launched as The Children’s Surgery Foundation in 2019 to reflect the national scope of our work today. The story below is from our days as the Chelsea Children’s Hospital Charity.

Children at St James’s Catholic Primary School in Twickenham raised an impressive £602 by taking part in a Shrove Tuesday Pancake sale. They set up a Pancake Cafe and had great fun scoffing all the delicious pancakes in return for a one pound donation.

Before the event, our charity manager Rebecca gave an inspiring talk to pupils during assembly, explaining how the money they raised would be helping children in hospital at Chelsea and Westminster and West Middlesex.

“It was so great of you to come in,” said Rebecca Bradley, RE Coordinator at St James’s. “I've already had so many children ask to bring in more than £1 because they wanted to support the charity so much!”

Thanks again to the children and staff at St James’s. What a great effort!
