Children's Christmas party!

03 Dec Archive Christmas party Santa and elves

Previously the Chelsea Children’s Hospital Charity, we re-launched as The Children’s Surgery Foundation in 2019 to reflect the national scope of our work today. The story below is from our days as the Chelsea Children’s Hospital Charity.

Our Christmas party for children at the hospital took place today. It was our pleasure and privilege to organise such a special event. Thanks to all the people who helped make this such a special occasion for the children at the hospital and their families.

There was so much for the amazing patients to enjoy including Santa’s Grotto, a giant bubble maker, face painting and a nail bar. The kids also got a chance to experience virtual reality, learn some new ball skills and join in a dance workshop.

We were thrilled to be joined by three inspirational track athletes from Team GB, who had all been selected for the Rio Olympics: Daryll Neita, Ashleigh Nelson and Ojie Edoburun. The GB athletes toured the wards to lift the spirits of the brave kids who were too unwell to join in. They were charming and the children were thrilled to meet them!

“What an honour to meet so many brave children today, they've made my day. Thank you Chelsea Children’s Hospital Charity!” said Ashleigh Nelson.
